Early Childhood Educator

Role Overview

The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing quality care and education to children in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This role supports children’s learning, wellbeing, and development while maintaining compliance with centre policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities
• Support the implementation of educational programs and routines
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Assist with daily routines such as meals, rest, and hygiene
• Observe and document children’s development as required
• Follow health, safety, and child protection procedures
• Work collaboratively with other educators and centre staff

Essential Requirements

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (or working towards)
• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma certificates
• Understanding of EYLF and National Quality Framework (NQF)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Previous experience in long day care or early learning centres
• Availability for short-notice or relief shifts
